The
Department of Community Police at the Abu Dhabi Police participated in
the activities of the 31st Unified GCC Traffic Week which was held this
year under the slogan “Your Choice Determines Your Destiny”. The
participation of the Community Police is in line with its goals of
enhancing social communication by contributing to the activities and
events that foster public awareness.
Lieutenant Colonel Hamoud Al
Derebi Al Afari, Acting Head of Community Police Affairs, noted that
the participation of the Community Police in the second week of
activities for the GCC Traffic Week held in the Al Mushrif Mall, have
been multifarious. The Department has coordinated with the Traffic and
Vehicles Department in order to engage the Community Police volunteers
in the activities of the GCC Traffic Week that have been held in the Yas
Mall and Al Mushrif Mall.
He added that 10 volunteers were
chosen to take part in the activities. The volunteers contributed by
organizing the public entry, taking part in competitions, distributing
gifts to the public, providing awareness guidelines to students, and
taking students on tours to the drawing workshop, the events stage, and
to the small exhibition that included traffic-related images and photos.
