Major
General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry
of Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Port Affairs, attended the
celebrations marking the UAE’s 42nd National Day. The ceremony,
organized by the Public Relations Department, was held at the Assistant
Undersecretary for Naturalization, Residency and Port Affairs’
headquarters.
Attending the ceremony were Brigadier Ghareeb Al
Hosani, Director General of the Ports and Airports Security Department;
Brigadier Saeed Rakan Al Rashedi, Head of Naturalization Department;
Colonel Salim Al Qattam Al Zaabi, Director General of Residency and
Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi; and Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed bin
Wadeema Al Ameri, Acting Director General of Resources and Support
Services. Also in attendance were a number of department heads, section
chiefs, and a large number of officers from the Naturalization,
Residency and Ports Affairs Sector.
The ceremony began with the
UAE’s national anthem, followed by performances from the Abu Dhabi
Police Music Band, women police force and the women cavalry, which were
organized by the Hawa (Eve) Committee. The ceremony included several
events that reflect the keenness of the Naturalization, Residency and
Ports Affairs Sector to interact with community members and share in
their joy on this precious national occasion.
Emirati poet
Mohammed Al Noah Al Menhali recited a national poem commemorating the
event; then Major General Al Khaili inaugurated a photo exhibition
titled “Zayed and the UAE”. A documentary film detailing the development
of the State was screened during the ceremony.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Major General Al Khaili said:
“The
Almighty God has blessed us with great leaders who pursued the path of
the pioneering founders with determination, sincerity, and dedication,
and whose efforts contributed to our State’s progress and prosperity in
various areas. They are dedicated leaders, who have given priority to
the dreams and aspirations of the Emirati people and endeavored to
provide them with a decent life and a bright future.
At the end
of the ceremony, Brigadier Ghareeb Al Hosani, accompanied by Brigadier
Saeed Rakan Al Rashedi, honored the entities participating in the
celebration, including the Naturalization, Residency, and Ports Sector’s
strategic partners.
For his part, Colonel Salim Ali Al Qattam Al
Zaabi indicated that this ceremony commemorates the declaration of the
Union and reflects gratitude for the unstinting efforts exerted by the
State’s founding fathers, who have laid the foundations for a developed
and strong country.
At the end of the event, the Director General
and Deputy Director General, alongside a group of officers, officials,
and staff members, signed the “loyalty painting” and planted a union
tree.
